Josh Bowler, a forward owned by Nottingham Forest, was back in the starting lineup on Saturday as Cardiff fell to…

Bowler came to the Bluebirds during the summer transfer window as a Forest loanee. Despite receiving numerous offers from Football League clubs, he decided to move to Wales.

He scored in a 2-2 tie with Leeds United on the first day of the season. But since then, he’s developed an injury that has prevented him from playing for a few months.

The deft winger returned to action on Saturday, starting from the beginning. Although he was unable to stop Cardiff from losing at Blackburn, he accomplished a respectable job for himself.

National media responds as Cardiff’s Bowler gets underway.

Bowler is fighting for a future with Forest.

It’s easy to see why Bowler was signed by Forest. In case the Reds had been demoted the previous season, he was added as a backup plan. Steve Cooper being a major admirer of the athlete.

During the January 2022 signing window, the club attempted to sign him. Then, the club had to wait until the summer because it was difficult to get him to leave Blackpool.

He had patchy results throughout his loan stints with Olympiacos and Blackpool the previous season. He was loaned out by Forest once more in the summer, and he is currently working hard to return to his peak.

Whether or not Bowler gets a shot at Forest will probably depend on how long the team stays in the Premier League. It appears less likely that the player will ever play for the Reds the longer the team is in existence.
