HOW MUCH MAGUIRE REALLY WANTS AS MANCHESTER UNITED PAYOFF, WEST HAM STANCE

Manchester United central defender Harry Maguire reportedly wants £7 million in payoffs amid interest from David Moyes’s West Ham United.

The Guardian is reporting this morning that West Ham United are moving away from a potential deal for Manchester United central defender Harry Maguire in the summer transfer window. The Hammers have agreed a £30 million deal with Premier League rivals Manchester United for Maguire.

The England international has also agreed personal terms with West Ham.

However, Maguire wants a payoff of around £7 million from Manchester United to leave.

The Guardian is reporting that Maguire would be on less money at West Ham because he has received a considerable salary increase at the Red Devils after they qualified for the UEFA Champions League this season.

The report has claimed that Maguire’s move to West Ham has now “collapsed” because the London club “grew tired of waiting for the defender to agree his exit” from the Red Devils.

“Although there is a chance the deal could be revived, it is not going ahead at the moment,” adds The Guardian.

Manchester United should pay £7m to Harry Maguire and sell him to West Ham United

In our view, if £7 million is what Harry Maguire is looking for from Manchester United, then the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners should just pay it and sell him to West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are getting £30 million in transfer fees from West Ham for Maguire.

So, if the Red Devils have to pay £7 million to Maguire, then they would still pocket £23 million.

Yes, of course, that would be a huge loss on the £80 million transfer fee they paid for Maguire, but Manchester United would still get something to reinvest in the squad.

If Maguire stayed at Old Trafford, then Manchester United would have to pay his salary despite him not playing week in and week out in Erik ten Hag’s side.
