Target poised for record move as Tottenham competes with Arsenal for the signing of a …

Galatasaray has set an asking price for Victor Nelsson, who is reportedly being pursued by Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports in Turkey.

Either of the north London rivals could take advantage of his worsening situation at Galatasaray.

He has not started any of their six most recent Super Lig matches and has been punished by the club for saying they blocked his exit over the summer.

With no intention of extending his contract at Galatasaray beyond 2026, his current employers could cash in on him at the next opportunity. According to Aksam, Nelsson is getting ready to find a new club.

Galatasaray has reportedly set an asking price of between €15 million and €20 million in order to facilitate his departure. Put another way, the Denmark international would set you back between £13.1 million and £17.5 million.

The current Turkish champions would like to smash their record for a sale, which is currently €16 million, or roughly £14 million, which is somewhat surprising for a club of their caliber.

For a 25-year-old who has international and Champions League experience, it seems like a reasonable price to pay to set up a first test in the Premier League for Nelsson.

When Tottenham acquired Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg in the summer, they added a new starting center-back to their roster.

To ensure they have strength in depth and to compete with Cristian Romero and the new arrival, there is a belief that they may require an additional option prior to the January transfer window.

With that in mind, there have been claims that Tottenham could offload Eric Dier, who has not come under consideration for regular gametime by Ange Postecoglou, and sign someone the head coach would prefer to rely upon.

Three-horse race for Nelsson

Although Nelsson’s name has been brought up a lot, the report reaffirms that Arsenal, their local rivals, are also keeping an eye on him. Jurrien Timber, a summer signing, was lost to a long-term injury early in his English football career.

Furthermore, Nelsson has been mentioned as a potential target by Timber’s previous team, the struggling Ajax of the Eredivisie.

He has made a total of 93 appearances for Galatasaray and previously played for clubs such as Nordsjaelland and Copenhagen in his native country.

Though it is unclear who among his three ardent admirers is in the lead, it is possible that his next adventure will take him to either England or the Netherlands.
