Philadelphia 76ers Secure Another Star Player with Two-Way Contract, Adding G League Standout to Roster

Daryl Morey, the President of Basketball Operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, announced today that Jeff Dowtin Jr. has officially inked a two-way contract with the team. The specific details of the agreement were not disclosed, in adherence to team policies.

Dowtin Jr. has been a standout performer for the Delaware Blue Coats, the 76ers’ G League affiliate, leading the team in assists with an impressive 5.9 per game.

In 16 G League appearances this season, he has been contributing significantly, averaging 18.1 points (with a 38.4% success rate from beyond the arc), 3.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. His recent stellar performance included a 25-point game against Greensboro on March 1, marking his fourth 20-point game in the last five outings.

Over his two-year professional career, Dowtin Jr. has demonstrated his versatility, averaging 10.8 minutes per game, along with 2.4 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 34 NBA games against teams such as Orlando, Milwaukee, Golden State, and Toronto.

Following the 2020 NBA Draft, Dowtin Jr. initially joined the Lakeland Magic in the G League, contributing to the team’s victory in the NBA G League title in 2021. He made his NBA debut with the Golden State Warriors on November 3, 2021.

Born and raised in the Washington, D.C., region, Dowtin Jr. played college basketball at Rhode Island for four seasons. In his senior year during the 2019–20 season, he started all 29 games, finishing with notable averages of 13.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.3 steals in 35.6 minutes per game. Dowtin Jr. played a key role in the Rams’ participation in two NCAA Tournaments in 2017 and 2018.
