Detroit Lions swap tight ends on offseason roster

The Detroit Lions made a pair of roster moves on Thursday, with the team swapping tight ends on its offseason roster.

The Lions announced they have signed veteran tight end Sean McKeon and waived undrafted free-agent tight end Isaac Rex, who was among Detroit’s first wave of UDFA signings after the 2024 NFL Draft.

A Michigan product, McKeon went undrafted before signing with the Dallas Cowboys, where he spent the past four seasons. In that time, McKeon tallied six receptions for 38 yards and one touchdown over 45 games (three starts).

With the Lions already having a rock-solid tight ends room, McKeon’s chances of making the roster are slim and none, but he’ll provide Detroit with another camp body moving forward, which is important at this time of year.

During his days with Michigan, McKeon totaled 60 receptions for 668 receiving yards and six touchdowns over 36 games. He is originally from Dudley, Massachusetts.
