Philippe Clement set for Europa League reunion v Sparta Prague…

Sparta Prague and new Rangers boss Philippe Clement square off in the Europa League. Priske was Brian Pugge’s teammate at Club Brugge.

The midweek fixture in the Czech Republic pits the Belgian manager against his Danish colleague. Over the weekend, he spoke about the reunion.

After Rangers defeated Hibs 4-0, Philippe Clement’s career couldn’t be off to a better start. However, Sparta Prague and Brian Priske will be looking to change that this week while on continental duty.

The new Rangers manager, who recently showered “friend” Brian Priske with praise, is anticipating a difficult encounter ahead of the Europa League visit.

I have seen two of their games, and their coach is a friend of mine, Clement told the media after the team defeated Hibs.

At Brugge, we were teammates, and afterwards, he was the coach at Antwerp. They play a 3-2-4-1 structure, with a lot of good passing between the lines.

Our aim is to have the maximum number of players in good condition available. We need as many fit players as possible. We are going to need a Rangers team on the tip of their toes to get a result against Sparta Prague.

Brian Priske and Philippe Clement will play together again when Rangers take on Sparta Prague.

In the middle of Club Brugge’s defense for two seasons, from 2006 to 2008, Philippe Clement collaborated with former Denmark international Brian Priske.

The team’s 2007 Belgian Cup victory was built on the partnership between the two, and Rangers are hoping Philippe Clement will instill that winning mentality at Ibrox.

Even though there may have been no hard feelings expressed prior to the game, Philippe Clement will be going all out to defeat Brian Priske and return the Rangers to winning ways in Europe.

Sparta Prague’s opening-day victory over the Cypriots was canceled out by a loss to Real Betis, while the Ibrox team suffered an unexpected 2-1 loss to Aris Limassol in the final round of matches.

With two games remaining and all four teams on three points, Rangers manager Philippe Clement is adamant that his team must perform at its peak to defeat Sparta Prague’s Brian Priske.

Sparta also go into the match this week off the back of a 4-0 win, having just thumped SK Dynamo by the scoreline to maintain their unbeaten start at the top of the Czech First League.
