Eagles Rumors: A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts Sideline Exchange’s Real Cause Revealed

A.J. Brown, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, and Jalen Hurts were seen arguing before the fourth quarter of the team’s Week 2 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. It was assumed that Brown was upset over not getting enough targets for that game.

However, as ESPN’s Tim McManus notes, the exchange started with a particular play:

“A member of the team indicated that the exchange concerned a play that had taken place minutes earlier, in which Hurts took a different route and Brown was the primary read. After finishing with four receptions for 29 yards, Brown said later that his feelings were getting heated and exited the stadium without speaking to any reporters. On a scale of one to ten, he gave the exchange a score of 0.5.

The players have both downplayed the significance of the exchange, with Brown characterizing it as merely a “discussion” and claiming he wasn’t “beefing” with Hurts.

The two are close friends, so it should come as no surprise that, as McManus stated in December, “some teammates jokingly liken Hurts and Brown to ‘an old married couple,’ according to quarterback Gardner Minshew, because they bicker, even though it’s obvious they’re close.” Many compare them to brothers.

This season’s captain, Brown, added that he will gladly “be that guy to have uncomfortable conversations.” I have a ‘C’ on my chest for a purpose.”

Although the Eagles’ passing attack has started poorly in 2023, the team is still 2-0 despite the fact that the two helped lead the squad to a Super Bowl berth the previous year. They’ll gladly put up with it if the pair’s trade is the Eagles’ main cause of drama this season. This is one of the off field heated arguments recorded this season.
