A former player has warned Manchester United that a particular selection option made by Erik ten Hag should be a sackable offense.
The heat has been turned up to eleven on the Dutchman.Despite a summer of expensive expenditure, Manchester United have been far from remarkable this season. The Red Devils’ sole victories have been narrow victories over Nottingham Forest and Wolves, with losses to Tottenham and Arsenal dampening the enthusiasm at Old Trafford.
Some are starting to wonder what is going on behind the scenes at Manchester United because the club is now mired in scandal off the field due to the incidents of Mason Greenwood and Antony and the less serious example of Jadon Sancho, who had a public altercation with Ten Hag after the Arsenal game.
As if that weren’t enough, inquiries are now being made over Erik ten Hag’s choice of candidates.
Martial picking is a dismissible offense.
the signing ofAfter traveling from Atalanta with a back injury, Rasmus Hojlund, the number nine United had been clamoring for, made his long-awaited debut against Arsenal. Despite Ten Hag’s claims before the game that the Dane was healthy enough to play, he only entered the game as a substitute, and Anthony Martial was given the start in place of him.
Paul Parker, a former Manchester United defender, has recently questioned this choice. He told SpilXperten that if Hojlund doesn’t start the match against Brighton, “all fans will want Erik ten Hag fired, and it would almost be justified.” If he began on the bench, “it wouldn’t make any sense.”
Parker continued, “Martial shouldn’t even be on the bench. “Hojlund can start as the primary striker, but there must be a younger guy who is better who can sit on the bench. It is a blessing that Manchester United finally has an attacker who plays with enthusiasm because all Manchester United supporters are tired of watching a player with a bad attitude who always mopes and complains.
I absolutely disagree that Rasmus Hojlund’s performance versus Arsenal should not be judged solely on the minutes he played. You most certainly can, as his replacement had a significant impact. He knew he couldn’t perform worse than Martial, so having to replace him was the best thing that could have happened to him.
