The legendary Lionel Messi of Argentina has been likened to Alexis Mac Allister, a midfielder for Liverpool.
Thus far, Mac Allister has proven to be a reliable but unimpressive addition to the Reds. The 24-year-old is still adjusting to his new position as the starting No. 6 and the expectations placed on him.
But with his national team, GOAL claims it’s a whole other story. Mac Allister receives praise for his performance in Argentina’s 1-0 victory against Paraguay last night, receiving a 7/10 for some “Messi-esque” moments. Since Messi can only play as a substitute, it looks like Alexis has assumed some of the duties once held by the great attacker.
According to reports, Liverpool’s No. 10 was “fantastic” overall and “absolutely dazzled” the Paraguayan box once.
