Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly ‘frightened’ after learning that Liverpool want to sign Jamal Musiala.

According to reports, the Bayern Munich phenomenon has put contract talks on hold in Germany. This has piqued the curiosity of a number of big clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester City, according to Christian Falk of Bild.

Manchester City is ‘frightened’ after Liverpool enters the competition to sign Jamal Musiala.

Jamal Musiala is one of the world’s most brilliant young players, and it’s no wonder that Liverpool and Manchester City have both been linked with a move for him.

The 20-year-old played for Chelsea for eight years before moving to Germany. He is now an important player for Bayern, who are desperate for him to sign an extension.

Liverpool are interested in signing Musiala in 2024, according to Sport Bild.

Christian Falk, the outlet’s transfer specialist, has now reported that Manchester City want to buy Musiala as well, although Jurgen Klopp’s interest has apparently ‘frightened’ Pep Guardiola’s side and all other suitors.

We reported exclusively last week that Musiala is a desired object of Jurgen Klopp, who absolutely wants to bring him to Liverpool, Falk remarked on Bild, as translated by Sportwitness.

“In doing so he has frightened the competition. Yes, now Manchester City want to intensify their effort. We’ve heard they are very, very interested.

Everyone knows that they can lure Musiala to their club and Liverpool will now have Manchester City at the table, while Real Madrid are very interested as well.

Bayern are doing everything they can to keep Musiala in Munich. They paid €200,000 (£174,500) for him, and he is now valued at €110 million (£96m). That’s what a player like that would cost if you want him, but that isn’t that much anymore.

Liverpool vs Man City

Jamal Musiala is a phenomenal talent, which means he will set you back a fortune.

If Falk is correct, and he is worth £96 million, Liverpool and Manchester City will have to break their respective transfer records to sign him. Both teams are certainly capable of doing so, but in a financial war, City would be the favorite.

Liverpool found themselves in the position of having to make a record-breaking bid to sign Moises Caicedo in the summer. Brighton accepted the bid, but the player selected Chelsea, and the Blues outbid Klopp’s team to complete the transfer.

For a player like Musiala, it would not surprise us if Manchester City decided to outbid Liverpool with a massive offer next summer.
