The most recent information from Leeds United as a current Whites player is predicted to earn worldwide recognition and a former target is expected to become available.

In the upcoming weeks, Leeds United may have the opportunity to sign a former transfer target for free.

With just one year left on his contract, the Philadelphia Union full-back may become available, and Leeds is reportedly interested.

During the January transfer window, the Whites were among several teams said to be interested in signing German defender Kai Wagner from Philadelphia Union as they sought to bolster their roster in an attempt to stay in the Premier League.

Wagner stayed with the MLS team in spite of the interest, and he went on to help his team win ten games and score three goals across all competitions. Despite that showing, The Athletic have revealed that the full-back is “likely” to depart the Union after negotiations for a new deal broke down.

As a result, Wagner will become a free agent in the upcoming weeks. Greek team AEK Athens, led by former Union head coach Matias Almeyda, is reportedly showing interest in Wagner.

Whites prospect Archie Grey could “make great strides” over the next year and put himself in the running for a spot in England’s Euro 2024 team, according to former Leeds United custodian Paul Robinson.

The 17-year-old midfielder made his Under-19 debut last week in a goalless draw against Montenegro in a European Championship qualifying match. He has three Lions caps at various minor levels.

Grey, who is also qualified to play for Scotland at the senior level, has gained admiration from Robinson and feels that working with Daniel Farke, the manager of the Whites, will help him go closer to earning senior caps in the years to come.

“My dark horse for the Euros squad, a real outsider from me, somebody I’ve watched regularly at Leeds United, Archie Grey,” the former Whites keeper said to BBC Five Live. has represented England at every level up to the under-19s; however, he has not yet played for the England under-21s.

“I expect him to make great strides in the next 12/18 months. He’s a regular for Daniel Farke in the Leeds side this year.”
