Ipswich Town has had an outstanding start to the Championship season, and statistics indicate that they are in the top third of European football in terms of form.
The Blues are continuing their remarkable momentum from last season, when they closed the campaign on a run of 19 games without a loss, by winning six of their first seven games back in the second division.

The victory at Southampton on Tuesday night propelled them into exclusive company for the entire 2023 calendar year.
Since January 1, only Town and the European champions Manchester City can claim at least 20 victories in the English Premier League.
While the Blues currently have 20 wins from 29 games, Pep Guardiola’s City have 22 won from 27 games.
The only team in Europe that can claim to be on a better run than the rampaging Blues is City, according to the form guide for the last 20 games played across the continent.
While the teams’ records (P20, W17, D2, L1, 53 points) are identical, Town has the advantage in goal differential.
They have scored 53 goals and given up just 11, giving them a goal difference of +42, compared to City’s ‘mere’ +36 from 49 goals and 13 goals against.

After the most recent victory for Town, manager Kieran McKenna observed, “We need to relish nights like this.
“We need to enjoy these nights as a whole club, supporters, players, everyone involved. For us to come here as a newly-promoted team, against a team who have just dropped from the Premier League, and perform how we did, show the quality that we did, and show the resilience that we did to get a result like that.”
