Medical Report as Alex Iwobi ‘undergoing medical at Fulham

Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi is said to have traveled to London for a medical ahead of a move to Fulham.

With only a year left on his contract at Goodison Park, talks between Iwobi and Everton have stalled in recent months.

It was disclosed earlier this week that Iwobi wants to leave after declining the club’s new contract offer just before the end of last season.

Iwobi has not featured in Everton’s last two matches after picking up a hamstring injury in their 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa on August 20.

That appears to be his final game for the Toffees, as Sky Sports News reports that he is on his way to London to complete a medical.

Personal terms between Iwobi and Fulham have been agreed upon, but it is believed that the two clubs still have some concerns to work out.

According to reports, a cost of roughly £20 million plus add-ons is expected to be finalized before Friday night’s deadline.

It gives Everton little time to find a successor for a player who was a first-team regular under both Sean Dyche and Frank Lampard previously.

With Demarai Gray also poised to leave and Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil still out with injuries, Everton might be very short in attack before hosting Sheffield United on Saturday lunchtime.

Sky Sports News has also stated that talks with Wilfried Gnonto have resumed, possibly aided by the monies Everton would receive for Iwobi.

Earlier in the transfer window, Everton had two bids rejected, with Leeds United reporting that they wanted £30 million for the Italian international.

Maxwel Cornet and Kamaldeen Sulemana have also entered the race in recent days, although Gnonto appears to be their top objective.

Iwobi may not be Everton’s only exit today, as teenage attacker Tom Cannon appears likely to join Leicester City on a permanent basis.

Cannon would join Ellis Simms in leaving for Championship clubs, following the arrivals of Beto and Youssef Chermiti at Everton this summer.
