Deion Sanders: Dallas Cowboys trade? The Only Way Is revealed by “Coach Prime”
The Dallas Cowboys had better think about making it a family affair if they ever get in touch with Deion Sanders for their guaranteed head coaching position.
“Prime Time” doesn’t give a damn about the NFL or the Dallas Cowboys.
Some have suggested that Prime take over as head coach of the Pokes in light of the drama surrounding the Cowboys’ head coaching position. However, Sanders—who is currently the head coach at the University of Colorado Boulder—made it clear during a podcast interview that he is dedicated to the collegiate game.
Sanders has been outspoken about his lack of desire to play in the NFL, beginning with this very discussion on CowboysSI.com. (See the section below.)
However, in his most recent refusal, he left the door ever so slightly ajar this time—albeit with a caveat that few, if any, clubs would be ready to fully comply with.
The owner of the Buffaloes fully expected resistance from Griffin, who publicly supported Sanders to replace Mike McCarthy following Dallas’ crushing 48-32 loss to them on Sunday afternoon in the NFC Wild Card round.
On “RG3 and The Ones,” Sanders stated, “You need to give up on it.”Right now, the only possible outcome you could think of is throwing my kids in. The only thing you can do is that, and since I know you, I know that’s where you were headed.”
During his remarkable playing career, Sanders spent five years (1995–1999) with the Cowboys, which began a championship run in Super Bowl XXX. The Pro/College Football Hall of Famer’s efforts as a head coach at Colorado and Jackson State have since made him one of the most talked-about figures in amateur football.
Throughout his college career, Sanders has had his boys, Shedeur and Shilo, by his side. Shedeur was the starting quarterback for the Buffaloes on their father’s first trip in a Bouler, throwing for 27 touchdowns against three interceptions, while Shilo led the club in tackles with 70.
The Buffaloes made significant progress from their one-win season in 2022, but they were unable to build on their 3-0 start and finished 1-8 overall.
For the 2024 college football season, CU will play in the Big 12 for the second year under Sanders’ leadership. The Buffaloes play their next game in Boulder, against North Dakota State, on August 31.
