NFL owner David Tepper, who also owns Charlotte FC, attended a vigil for the team’s defender
Due to owner David Tepper’s attendance at a vigil for Charlotte FC defender Anton Walkes, the Carolina Panthers have called off their search for a new head coach.
Tepper, who also owns the MLS team, was present to pay his respects to Walkes when he passed away on Thursday following a boat accident.
After Matt Rhule was fired midseason and Steve Wilkes was unable to lead the Panthers to the postseason, the team’s billionaire owner is currently searching for a new head coach.
Interviews have been scheduled this week for the various vacancies around the league, with Tepper and the Panthers present in New York earlier in the week following the conclusion of the regular season.
But now that Tepper is seen sobbing with Walkes’ former teammates, attention is back on Charlotte FC.
