Thomas Partey starts at right back for Arsenal against Nottingham Forest while Gabriel drops to the bench.

Gabriel Magalhaes is on the bench for Arsenal’s opening weekend Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest. The Brazilian is replaced in the starting line up technically by Eddie Nketiah but there’s a lot of manoeuvring going on in Mikel Arteta’s side.

Thomas Partey appears to have moved to right-back with Ben White shifting into the middle alongside William Saliba. Jurrien Timber continues at left-back with neither Kieran Tierney nor Oleksandr Zinchenko on the bench.

Declan Rice, meanwhile, shifts back into the deeper lying midfield role. Kai Havertz is playing in the left eight spot despite impressing at centre forward against Manchester City in the Community Shield. Martin Odegaard captains the team alongside him in midfield.

That means that Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka continue on the left and right wings respectively. Nketiah then leads the line for the Gunners.
