The cures of Arsenal draw against Tottenham and the Emotional tremor…

September 26, 2023September 26, 2023 admin

After taking the lead twice at the Emirates on Sunday, Arsenal lost the North London derby, tying 2-2 with rivals Tottenham.

After a spectacular first 35 minutes in which Arsenal outplayed Spurs and created lots of opportunities, it appeared as though they would easily win the match.

The first strategy was to pass the ball to Tottenham at the back and then pressure them into making a mistake deep in their own half.

The strategy created many opportunities for Arsenal, including one near the penalty spot that Gabriel Jesus blasted over. After Cristian Romero diverted Bukayo Saka’s attempt into his own goal for the first goal, the Gunners would have been out of reach on another day.

Spurs were able to regain control of the match in the first half thanks to Son Heung-min, but there was a sense of dissatisfaction at the lost opportunities.

Despite losing Declan Rice to injury, the Gunners managed to gain some composure after the interval, and Saka scored the game-winning penalty on minute 54 following a VAR review. The ground was alive with the delight and relief of the goal.

However, a minute later, the goal was scored by Arsenal as a result of a careless mistake by Jorginho, Rice’s halftime substitute, who allowed Son and James Maddison to face William Saliba in a one-on-one situation as Saliba was forced to stand by and watch.

Despite a late surge of pressure, Arsenal never really looked like scoring again after that point.

The emotion is normal and won’t quickly go away since it’s the same team as last year and it’s a big game.

However, on Sunday, it seemed expensive in a few instances because the team lacked the composure to end the game early, got carried away with the joy of the goals, and was unable to restore composure.

In all honesty, it appeared as though the title fight was all but over after the match versus Liverpool at Anfield last season. But more so than at Anfield, it seemed like Arsenal was at blame this time.

It’s upsetting to lose in a derby in that way, especially after controlling the first half. The group demonstrated their brilliance. Sadly, they also demonstrated that more work has to be done.

Following a midweek EFL Cup match at Brentford, Bournemouth will play in the Premier League on the south coast before traveling to RC Lens in the Champions League the following Tuesday before playing Manchester City at the Emirates.
