Jamie Bynoe-Gittens of Borussia Dortmund has just extended his contract with the Bundesliga club until 2028, but Arsenal has emerged as a top candidate in the race to sign him.

Arsenal are reportedly ‘above all’ Premier League teams interested in the 19-year-old, along with rivals Chelsea and Newcastle United, according to German media, notably Bild.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has extended his contract through 2028. Arsenal is said to be the favorite to sign him.

Despite the new contract and higher price, the Gunners, led by manager Mikel Arteta, are still ready to sign the young star.

Any prospective transfer deal would be complicated since Bynoe-Gittens, a current England U21 international who was born in London, recently obtained a wage increase after signing a contract extension with Dortmund.

The player has a ‘huge fan’ in Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal.

‘Those in control’ at the North London club reportedly see ‘great potential’ in the winger, making them a serious rival in any prospective acquisition.

Bynoe-Gittens extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund last week, essentially committing him to the German team through the year 2028. This makes it more difficult for Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United to negotiate a sale.

His rapid rise through the ranks to Dortmund’s first team has improved his current market value to €14 million, according to Transfermarkt.

He spent some time at Reading’s junior program prior to his tenure at Manchester City.

Although he has only made a few appearances for Dortmund’s first team, numerous Premier League teams have already taken notice of his potential. In addition to the new contract and higher market worth, there will be stiff competition from other teams, making it even more difficult for Arsenal to sign Bynoe-Gittens.

He has logged outstanding minutes in his brief time in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, but he hasn’t scored a goal yet.
