Dharmesh Sheth says Manchester United defender and Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Harry Maguire is ‘open’ to joining David Moyes’ West Ham United.

West Ham United are yet to sign a player this summer and they are pushing for Harry Maguire’s signature given that he was stripped of the Manchester United captain’s armband this summer and is seemingly free to leave.

Transfer expert Sheth shared that the Hammers are ‘closer to a comprise’ for Maguire than they are with another Old Trafford target, Scott McTominay, as he told the Transfer Show on Sky Sports News (08/08/23 at 5:05 pm).

But what’s even more encouraging for Moyes and Co. is that the England international is ‘open’ to making a switch to the London Stadium.

West Ham aren’t the only team in the Premier League that have shown interest in the hard-hitting player because there have been suggestions that Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur plan to ‘hijack’ a possible move for the player.

Well, if they are going to do that, then they better get a hurry on because it seems as though a possible transfer to West Ham is getting closer.

“Talks are continuing between West Ham United and Manchester United over the potential signing of Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay,” said Sheth.

“West Ham went in yesterday (Monday) with £30 million bids for each player – it’s understood that West Ham are closer to a compromise with Man United over Harry Maguire’s fee, rather than Scott McTominay.

“Now, discussions over Maguire are said to be positive, with West Ham encouraged that he appears to be open in making that move from Old Trafford to the London Stadium.”

Maguire needs to make a call

Time is ticking and Maguire can’t afford to still be at Manchester United by the time it’s September because it could really harm his season.

West Ham and Spurs aside – both would be very good moves – Sean Dyche’s Everton have also been mentioned.

Tony Cascarino has backed the ‘dominant’ star to move to Goodison Park, as he told talkSPORT, so Maguire isn’t short of offers and he can’t say that there isn’t a variety of options out there for him.
