Staying put: Wrexham tie midfielder James Jones to… 

, has agreed to a new contract that will keep him at the League Two team until the 2024–25 season.

WHAT OCCURED?The 27-year-old transferred from Lincoln City to the Dragons in 2021, quickly solidifying his position as boss Phil Parkinson’s go-to player. The new agreement will be in effect through the end of the 2024–25 season with a one–year extension option.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Jones, who has more than 100 appearances for Wrexham and 14 goals to his name, has appeared in more games under Parkinson’s direction than only club captain Ben Tozer.

WHAT THEY SAID: It’s a pleasure for me to sign. Jones told the club website, I’ve cherished my time here. It’s a unique club to be at. I’m incredibly happy I got this done, and I’m eager to pursue another promotion.
