Cardiff City should be wary of them, according to Wrexham striker Rosie Hughes.

Wales – RHOSLLANNERCHRUGOG – 25 SEPTEMBER 2022 During the Genero Adran North Group 1 match between Wrexham AFC Women and Llanfair United Ladies FC at Ponciau Park, Rhosllannerchrugog, Rosie Hughes rejoices.

You could tell it was just another typical Sunday afternoon for Rosie Hughes as she walked off the field with a wide smile on her face, laughing loudly and joking with her teammates.

On Sunday against Barry Town, the striker scored five goals, helping Wrexham cruise to a 5-1 victory.

Hughes scored with her head, left foot, and right foot, making the accomplishment all the more remarkable given that she had some hesitations before to the game.

“On the field, the result itself demonstrates how effective we were today. I told one of my teammates that I didn’t believe I was going to do well today since I had some leg pain when I arrived here.

I then scored a hat-trick in the opening 20 minutes! I don’t frequently do headers, so to score two of them was fantastic. Two of them came off my head as well.

She has already scored five goals this season, bringing her total to seven, four more than any other player in the Adran Premier.

Many questioned if Hughes could maintain her impressive record in the top division after she scored 42 goals in all competitions previous season.

But the message from the number nine is simple, I’ll score every opportunity you give to me.

“I really adore scoring goals. I’ve said it before and I said it when I joined Wrexham: all I do is score goals.I convince myself that I’m not even that skilled at tackling or defending. I’m just capable of scoring goals. Just bring the ball to me, and I’ll put it in the goal for you.”I haven’t seen any of the other results yet, but I’m hoping to be seated as the Adran Prem’s leading goal scorer. It’s a nice method for me to increase my tally today because I got it last season and the season before that.

(Photo by FAW/Nik Mesney)Wrexham’s undefeated start to the season is maintained with today’s victory, which has propelled them to the top of the Adran Premier. The side will have to contend with traveling to the south this year, among other things. Despite two strong away performances against two of the league’s most seasoned teams, the club is showing no signs of slowing down.

“It’s a massive confidence boost. The home game against Swansea really set us off nicely for to start the season, and to then have two away games down south, we’ve done really well.

“We’re travelling down early, staying overnight, things we’re not used to doing, but to be able to win those games and come away with good scores as well, against two teams who have been in this league for a while says a lot about us.

“We haven’t played these top teams for a while, so to be able to win the last two is amazing and I’m happy for everyone.”

Next up for Wrexham is a mouth-watering clash against Cardiff City.

The fact that the Bluebirds haven’t lost in the league since March 2022 doesn’t frighten Hughes and her team; instead, they claim that City should be extremely concerned about traveling up to The Rock.

“I’m eager to see them, especially with the assurance we had after defeating Swansea and the fact that we’re leading the rankings.

“To be honest, I think Cardiff might be a little anxious about playing us. They should be concerned since we have won both of our away games, but we will be thrilled because they are visiting our home field.

“We will perform admirably if we keep playing the way we are. Our defense is outstanding, and the new additions have played well. It should be fantastic since the center is coming together and you have me up front.
