Wolves can now recruit a top target aged 26 for less than £10 million.

Wolves have unexpectedly became embroiled in huge transfer talk this week, as treble winners Manchester City came calling.

City have turned their attentions toward signing Matheus Nunes after they were put off Lucas Paqueta by the asking price.

It is however thought that Wolves won’t let Nunes go cheaply with a £47million bid already rejected.

It is believed that Old Gold will require a bid in excess of £60m to consider selling Nunes.

This is a fee which would allow Wolves to finally strengthen in other positions, which has been so necessary this summer.

One name that has been on the cards all summer, could be more likely than ever due to the potential sale.

Nico Elvedi available for under £10m

Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi has been a name linked with a Molineux move all summer.

However with Wolves’ transfer woes, he seemed unattainable but with a potential big influx of cash this deal could go through.

The Athletic have reported that the 26-year-old would be available for less than £10m.

This is a fee Wolves could easily match should they receive a big fee for Nunes.

Should Wolves trade in Nunes for a stronger squad?

Nunes arrived at Wolves, one of Europes best midfield talents however has largely failed to live up to his potential.

Inconsistent and unfortunate, Nunes has shown glimpses but never quite the final product.

Therefore, it could make sense to sell given he could fund a partial squad rebuild with multiple positions requiring attention.

However, it only makes sense if Wolves use the money on improving the team and strengthen.

We don’t want to see him leave and minimal investment go into the squad.
