The Portuguese goalkeeper joined the team in 2021 after leaving Olympiacos, and he is now in his third season.

Sa, who was selected for the 2022 Portugal World Cup team, has been Wolves’ practically constant number one since joining the club and has now dedicated his future to the organization.

“We’re excited that Jose will be part of this next stage and cycle we’ll be going through, and he’ll play an important role in that, on and off the pitch,” sport director Matt Hobbs said. He is enthusiastic about what we are attempting to do but also recognizes the importance of individuals in his position for us.

“He deserves it because he earned it. He has been a key contributor to our team, a leader off the field, and he keeps getting better. It primarily serves as a reward for his diligence but also conveys his significance to us.

He was also enthusiastic about it because he can see where the club is headed and what we want to accomplish over the next several windows. He wants to take us ahead, is a winner, and accepts responsibility.

Sa was chosen player of the season by his teammates and the fans in his debut season at Molineux after recording 11 clean sheets.

He outperformed himself the previous year, with a total of 12 clean sheets as Wolves fought to stay afloat.
