However, he has insisted that he isn’t even halfway to achieving his full potential yet.

The striker, who joined from Salford City last summer after an impressive start to the campaign, netted nine times for Albion in his debut season.

He has been the only healthy striker for the majority of his time at the team, and in his first 14 games this season, he has five goals.

However, he believes there is a lot more to come from him.

He said: “I’ve definitely learned a lot since joining here. That’s credit to all the staff, from the first set when I joined to the ones I’m working with now.

Speaking during the initial interview was something I recall doing because I prefer to be at ease and then communicate from that place.

Reaching the stage where I could play on the field as I pleased and gain the boys’ trust was the goal.

“It is more a matter of sharing what I can do, and I know I still have more to offer; I do not believe we have reached that point yet.”

During every Albion game, Thomas-Asante has disclosed that his parents follow him both home and away.

He also disclosed how pressure from one of his parents to score more goals was placed on him.

“My mother is the one who pushes me to achieve goals,” he clarified after speaking with his parents.

“Normally, you would assume my dad would be involved.

“I like to leave games knowing I could have scored or that I had it in me to find the net, rather than feeling like the game was beyond me. I am not one to carry pressure and I always want to score, and that is never going to change.

“This year I’ve been really happy because there’s not a game I’ve played where I’ve felt like I’ve not been a threat.

Though I am not saying my game is finished and there is still a lot to learn, I am pleased with how things are going.
