Regarding Anthony Joshua facing Tyson Fury, a former member of Joshua’s team has shared his thoughts.
The boxing world is itching for Joshua to face Fury in what would be one of the biggest matches in British boxing history, especially after Joshua’s savage annihilation of Francis Ngannou earlier this month.
When Fury and Oleksandr Usyk do battle in May, Fury has to find a way past him. Should Fury triumph over the Ukrainians, the way may be opened for the historic fight.
Richie Woodall, who accompanied Joshua on his 2012 Olympic team, has been questioned about the tantalizing bout. Despite acknowledging Joshua’s progress, he maintains that the bout would be too close to call.
He’s boxing pretty well the last couple of shows; it’s working with Ben Davison,” he said to Boxing Social.
To be honest, the way he took out Ngannou was very amazing. In my opinion, the match that everyone secretly still wants to witness is Tyson Fury vs. AJ.
But it’s a hard decision because Tyson looks in great shape and Fury has a very tough fight against Usyk. I really want Fury, but I fear he’ll be too big for Usyk. Still, I’m excited about it.
However, I believe that AJ is the player we should watch because, while it’s an intriguing division, I believe he’s getting better with Ben Davison. Fair play to him.
“We’ll have to judge it based on Fury’s next bout with Usyk; it will be tough and require him to be at the top of his game, so Tyson vs. AJ is currently tied for first place, but if he defeats Usyk, he becomes the favorite.
