Tottenham could sign a ‘incredible’ Chelsea player to replace Harry Kane if he leaves.

Tottenham could make a surprise move to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea if Harry Kane decides to join Bayern Munich.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

So, what is the situation involving Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Italian news outlet believe the Belgium international is an option for Spurs if the England international chooses to join Bayern Munich.

As you may have already heard, Tottenham have accepted an £86.4m bid from Bayern Munich for the 30-year-old, and the Spurs No.10 is now deciding whether to join Thomas Tuchel at the Allianz Arena.

If Kane does choose to leave, then the north Londoners could make a move for Lukaku.

Gazzetta dello Sport believe the Belgian is among the options to replace Tottenham’s all-time record goalscorer, along with Gift Orban, as Chelsea attempt to offload him this summer.

So far, Chelsea have seen negotiations with Inter Milan collapse after the 30-year-old angered the Italian giants by also speaking to AC Milan and Juventus.

The latter have remained in talks to sign the Antwerp-born striker, with Dusan Vlahovic heading to Chelsea as part of the potential deal, although that now hangs in the balance after Juventus fans invaded the pitch to demand that Lukaku is not signed.

Lukaku leaving Chelsea for Tottenham is unlikely if Kane departs

Interestingly, Gazzetta dello Sport mention two key reasons why Lukaku is unlikely to join Tottenham – despite stating that he’s on their shortlist. The Italian news outlet somewhat contradict themselves in that respect.

It is said that Ange Postecoglou is not a huge fan of the Belgian, and doesn’t believe he has the technical ability to replace someone like Kane.

Furthermore, Gazzetta dello Sport mention that Lukaku doesn’t want to stay in the Premier League, so he is unlikely to be open to joining Tottenham.

Nevertheless, the striker – who Ashley Young once called “incredible” – is not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, so it remains to be seen where he ends up this summer. Be sure to keep an eye on the situation.
