Tottenham to sign €30m-rated striker

Tottenham target and Porto striker Mehdi Taremi is a subject of interest for Inter and AC Milan

Italian powerhouses Inter Milan and AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Mehdi Taremi from Porto, who is a target for Tottenham Hotspur, according to a tweet from Portuguese reporter Pedro Sepuldeva.

The Iranian international won’t be sold by the Portuguese club for less than €30 million, according to Italian correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio. Spurs made a first-round bid of €24 million.

There have been rumors that Manchester United is interested in signing Taremi since the summer transfer market opened. Weeks after abandoning their interest in Harry Kane, the talisman of Tottenham Hotspur, they have since gone on to recruit Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.

It’s possible that Taremi’s potential signing is motivated by Kane’s impending departure. Bayern Munich has made its final bid to sign the England player, and they are optimistic that a deal can be reached.

When that occurs, Tottenham is forced to sign a substitute player who is comparable. Taremi plays in the same position as Kane, despite the fact that, with all due respect, he is not as good as the latter (few players in football are).

The international player from Iran has scored a lot of goals for Porto. The 31-year-old joined the team from fellow Portuguese team Rio Ave three years ago, and since then, he has made 147 appearances across all competitions, contributing to 80 goals and 49 assists.

He is a striker who, when necessary, can also play as an attacking midfielder and on the left wing. He has thus far had a sizable number of assists during his Porto career.

With 66 appearances for Iran, he has a respectable record, scoring once every two games.

Taremi is a player with a proven track record of success at the highest levels, age aside. Given the predicament Tottenham would find itself in if Kane goes late in the transfer window, he might make a suitable Kane replacement.
