Conor Gallagher and Eberechi Eze eyed Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg replacement
The Denmark international’s future at the North London side is uncertain as things stand. Spurs are open to parting ways with the 27-year-old, who still has two years left on his current contract.
To that end, Atletico Madrid are interested in the midfielder. However, it remains to be seen whether the La Liga outfit have the finances to sanction a move for him.
Hojbjerg signed for Tottenham in the summer of 2020 from Southampton. Over the years, he has been one of our most consistent players. In the previous campaign, the midfielder was one of the few in the team who seemed to put in a fight.
However, Ange Postecoglou does not seem to trust him. The Danish national was an unused substitute in the 2-2 draw against Brentford. Then, he was brought on late in the second half in the North London side’s 2-0 victory over Manchester United.
Postecoglou has some impressive talent at his disposal in the engine room. Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr seem to have found their feet under the Australian manager. The gaffer can also call upon Oliver Skipp, Giovani Lo Celso and Rodrigo Bentancur, who is expected to return from his injury soon.
Gallagher, 23, has a lot of competition now with the addition of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia at Chelsea. It will be interesting to see whether the English national will opt to leave the Blues.

On the other hand, Eze is a more attacking midfielder. The 25-year-old has thrived at Palace, but we have already signed James Maddison. Therefore, it does not make sense to buy the English national as things stand.
