The goal was “never” offside: Kloop Reject an apology from PGMOL

Liverpool has apologized to the PGMOL for the VAR decision made against Spurs.

The elite refereeing organization in England, Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), apologized to Liverpool after the match for a “significant human error” that resulted to Luis Diaz’s precise goal being disallowed.

The goal should have been awarded because of the glaring factual error, according to PGMOL, which criticized VAR Darren England’s choice. The VAR did not step in, though. Images that were being shared on social media suggested that England had not drawn any lines to indicate whether Luis Diaz was in front of or behind the final defender when he made his run.

The Liverpool manager lamented how the game had been “opened up” by the disciplinary actions, claiming that Liverpool’s goal was “never” offside.

The first thing you hear at halfway is that they drew the lines incorrectly,” he said Sky Sports, accepting two additional suspensions and the termination of the division’s longest unbeaten streak by seven games, which had started after Liverpool’s defeat to Manchester City on April 1.

“Someone opened the smartphone, and I don’t know if it was on Twitter, Instagram, or somewhere else. It is obvious that they drew the lines incorrectly and failed to accurately time when Mo [Salah] passed the ball.

“I’m pretty sure people will speak about it. It’s just so difficult to deal with. Imagine your heart rate is 160, 170, 180, and then you see that.”
