TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook now claims that Kane is believed to have ‘put in a word’ recommending Dier to Bayern.
Kane has allegedly spoken to Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel and is trying to convince his new club to raid Tottenham again.
This rumour first emerged earlier this week as Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg suggested that Dier had been offered to Bayern.
The German champions were showing an interest because Dier can play as a centre back or holding midfielder.
Bayern have just sold defender Benjamin Pavard to Inter whilst Tuchel has been desperate to sign a midfielder anchor man all summer.
Maybe Bayern think that Dier can fill both of those needs in one fell swoop – and he allegedly has the support of Kane as Bayern weigh up a move.
Kane and Dier have racked up 360 appearances together for club and country; Kane hasn’t played more games with anybody else.
That connection may now see them reunite – if Tuchel takes Kane’s advice on board.
Tottenham are hoping to flog Eric Dier
Tottenham simply have too much deadwood at this point.
Spurs have struggled to offload players permanently of late and that means a number of fringe players remain at the club.
Sergio Reguilon and Tanguy Ndombele spring to mind whilst Bryan Gil and Davinson Sanchez will surely be available.
Then we come to Dier, who has given great service to Tottenham in nine years at the club.
The 29-year-old started 31 games last season but seemingly has no role under Ange Postecoglou.
Dier hasn’t started at all for Tottenham this season and wasn’t even involved in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup tie at Fulham.
Tottenham clearly want to move Dier on now and whether it’s Bayern or another club, he will be available ahead of the deadline.
