In the closing moments of the North London Derby, Dejan Kulusevski of the Spurs was seen being ridden by Mikel Arteta.
Both Spurs and Arsenal entered the game on Sunday with 13 points, and one could make the case that Ange Postecoglou’s team had played better throughout the season’s opening five league games.
Despite this, many analysts predicted that the Gunners would shock their closest rivals and come out on top.
Given that Arsenal greatly improved their team in the summer, it is somewhat understandable given that they were Manchester City’s strongest rivals for the title the previous season.
On Sunday, Tottenham actually gave the home team a reality check by demonstrating that they weren’t afraid to compete with their opponents.
Although Arteta appeared to be a little up to the dark arts, Spurs passed their first major test of the season with flying colors, which may give their supporters hope for what they may accomplish this year.
It seems like Mikel Arteta is attempting to annoy Kulusevski.
When Kulusevski attempted to elude defense down the right flank toward the end of the game, Arteta moved out of his technical area and appeared to jockey the Spurs forward.
We do not know if this caused Kulusevski to kick the ball into no-man’s territory. However, it appeared odd and was undoubtedly against Arteta’s guidelines.
Tottenham Web Opinion
Making predictions about how far Spurs or any other team may advance this season is entirely premature. I do not believe it is wise to look at the league standings until at least ten games have been played.
However, there is much to be hopeful about, not only in light of Tottenham’s results but also in light of the character they have thus far displayed.
On the sidelines, Arteta needs to control his temper. He has previously strayed outside his technical expertise and interfered with things. We can all still recall the Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg video.
