- WHO IS LUKA VUSKOVIC? WONDERKID PROFILED AS TOTTENHAM TRANSFER CLOSE
- Tottenham Hotspur are close to signing Hajduk Split defender Luka Vuskovic in what appears to be a major coup for Ange Postecoglou.
Luka Vuskovic, a wonderkid from Hajduk Split who has drawn interest from numerous other teams, is close to joining Tottenham Hotspur.
Fabrizio Romano asserts that Tottenham are ‘on the verge’ of signing Vuskovic, at least in accordance with his assertion.
Vuskovic is reportedly exclusively interested in joining Tottenham right now, despite other clubs’ interest.
According to Romano, Tottenham and Vuskovic have reached a personal agreement, and the transfer paperwork is being finalized.
Romano’s signature “here we go” catchphrase, used to announce a relocation, indicates that Vuskovic is going to North London.
Who is Tottenham-bound Luka Vuskovic?
Vuskovic, who joined the Hajduk Split first team at the age of 16, has developed into one of Europe’s finest wonderkids.
Vuskovic, a 6 foot 4 inch defender who has already appeared 11 times for the Hajduk first team, has tremendous potential.
Even the ‘unstoppable’ moniker given to Vuskovic by the Croatian media is a big compliment.
Vuskovic comes from a football family as well; during his playing days, his father Daniel played for a number of clubs, including Hajduk and Rijeka.
Mario, Vuskovic’s grandfather, played for Heerenveen, while Marko, his great-grandfather, played for Hajduk.
Before moving to Hamburg in 2021, Mario’s brother was a member of the Hajduk team, while cousins Moreno and Vito currently play for Kustosija and Rudes, respectively.
Vuskovic won’t be allowed to play in England until he is 18 though, meaning he will stay with Hajduk until 2025.
Who else wanted Vuskovic?
Romano doesn’t mention any of the additional clubs involved, although there have been numerous rumors recently.
In April, The Daily Mail stated that Vuskovic had been a target for Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
City had been looking into a £12 million deal and appeared to be in the lead for Vuskovic.
Ange Postecoglou now has another promising young defender to choose from thanks to Tottenham, who now appear to have edged out their Premier League competitors.
With Micky van de Ven’s immense potential, Ashley Phillips’ enormous talent, and Vuskovic’s enormous talent, Spurs may be set up at the back for years to come.
