Tottenham dissatisfied with the Hugo Lloris circumstance
Hugo Lloris’ failure to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer has reportedly angered the club.
Tottenham allegedly tried to offload the 36-year-old this summer, but he was unable to find a buyer, according to a report from the Guardian. He might now be banished until the transfer window in January.
Lloris needs to leave Tottenham in order to play regularly since he has slid down the Tottenham hierarchy. Guglielmo Vicario has taken his place at Tottenham, and if Lloris doesn’t complete a deal in the next few days, the window won’t reopen until January.
The transfer window in Turkey is open until the middle of September and it remains to be seen whether the 36-year-old can sort out his permanent future before that. He was linked with a number of clubs in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and France in recent weeks.
Before deciding on a move, it appears that the goalkeeper is searching for a legitimate athletic project. It is understandable that Tottenham would like to offload the 36-year-old because he hasn’t been performing at his peak in a while.
The Frenchman has long been a vital member of the north London club, but in recent months, his importance has diminished, and the newly hired manager Ange Postecoglou does not see him as an important component of his first-team plans.
During preseason as well, he was given time off to find a transfer away from Tottenham. The following few days will be intriguing to watch as the scenario changes.
.Despite not being at his best, Lloris is still good enough to play regularly and he could be a useful option for clubs in Turkey. He has the experience and leadership qualities to improve several teams and he should look to join the club where he will get ample game time.
The 2018 World Cup winner is in the twilight years of his career and he needs to play as much as possible. Sitting on the bench at Tottenham should not be an option for a player of his quality.
If the move does not go through this summer, Tottenham are prepared to freeze him out of the first-team squad and wait until the January transfer window to get rid of him permanently.
The goalkeeper is in the final year of his contract with the north London club and he will be able to leave them as a free agent next summer. It seems that Tottenham are now hoping to sell him for a knockdown price instead of losing him for nothing.
