It is a big mistake: Jamie Redknapp has criticised Tottenham Hotspur

JAMIE REDKNAPP SAYS ANGE POSTECOGLOU HAS ALREADY MADE A ‘BIG MISTAKE’ AT TOTTENHAM

Jamie Redknapp has criticised Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou for his decision on James Maddison against Fulham in midweek.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder stated on Sky Sports Premier League (8:24pm, September 2, 2023) that Ange Postecoglou should have started James Maddison against Fulham in the EFL Cup Second Round South fixture on Tuesday evening at Craven Cottage in London.

Spurs lost the tie on penalties.

Maddison came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute.

Redknapp made the remarks after Tottenham’s Premier League victory over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.

Maddison, who joined Tottenham from Leicester City in the summer transfer window, started the game and scored one of the goals against Vincent Kompany’s team.

Spurs defeated Burnley to maintain their unbeaten start to the new Premier League season.

“They lost to Fulham in the Cup, which is really disappointing, but the way to bounce back was today,” Redknapp added.

“James Maddison didn’t play in midweek, which was a big mistake, and I don’t think Bissouma started, which was another one.”

Maddison is one of the best English playmakers around, and we believe that he should have started against Fulham.

Tottenham Hotspur must win a major prize soon.

Spurs place a high value on cup competitions.

It was unnecessary for Maddison to take a’rest’ so early in the season.

After all, he is only 26 years old, and Tottenham does not play in Europe this season.

Maddison has made four Premier League appearances this season.

In those games, the 26-year-old has two goals and two assists.
