Perisic has only started one game for Tottenham this season, a Carabao Cup match against Fulham, but the wide-man has come on as a substitute four times for Ange Postecoglou’s men, producing some impressive cameos.
OptaJoe on X: "15 - Ivan Perišić has been directly involved in 15 goals at World Cups and EUROs combined (9 goals, 6 assists), five more than any other Croatia player. Evergreen.
On Saturday, in his 127th cap for his country, the 34-year-old delivered another reminder of his quality, toying with Latvia right-back Roberts Savalnieks throughout the game. The Tottenham player was instrumental in the home team’s second goal, as he delivered a superb cross into the box, which Bruno Petkevic failed to finish before the ball dropped sweetly to Luka Ivanusec.Perisic then set up Croatia’s third goal, dribbling past Savalnieks once more before setting up Petkevic with a tap-in at the far post. The former Inter Milan man also sent a nice ball around the corner for Mario Pasalic to rush onto and score the home team’s fifth goal of the night.

I’m not surprised Perisic played all 90 minutes because his legs needed some competitive game time. The 34-year-old was definitely anxious for some minutes and once again demonstrated his class.

While the Croat will not start for Spurs, he will be a very important weapon to put on from the bench, especially if there is any space to exploit with the opposition chasing the game.
