According to RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins, the competition for Adarabioyo is heating up.
According to Hawkins, Fulham centre back Adarabioyo wants to join Monaco this summer and has already agreed on personal terms.
However, Hawkins believes that Fulham and manager Marco Silva would want Adarabioyo to join Tottenham.
This is because Silva wants to include Eric Dier in the deal, with the Spurs defender serving as a part-exchange.
Of course, Fulham could just trade Adarabioyo and use the proceeds to secure a move for Dier.
Fulham seemingly believe that a straight swap would be easier though, possibly because Tottenham may not want to offload Dier without a replacement.
Spurs have wanted Adarabioyo all summer but his preference seems to be Monaco, leaving Fulham’s Dier chase in limbo.
Tosin Adarabioyo ticks the boxes for Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham have already signed one centre back this summer with Micky van de Ven arriving from Wolfsburg.
The Dutchman has partnered Cristian Romero in Tottenham’s first two Premier League games this season.
Despite the fact that Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez appear to be available, Tottenham has been looking into other options, like Adarabioyo.
Tottenham’s pursuit of Adarabioyo is not particularly thrilling, but he makes sense for the club.
Adarabioyo possesses a commanding presence at 6ft 5in and a quick turn of pace.
Pep Guardiola was a fan of Adarabioyo when he was at Manchester City, claiming that he is fast, faster than most people believe.
The 25-year-old is also a homegrown talent, which Tottenham desperately needs, and he is in the final year of his contract.
A swap with Dier appears to be the best option for all parties, but Adarabioyo may irritate Spurs by focussing on Monaco instead.
