TOTTENHAM ARE NOW TRYING TO SIGN £325,000-A-WEEK STRIKER, CONTACT MADE

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are now reportedly trying to sign Romelu Lukaku from Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla on his website, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Romelu Lukaku from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The reporter has claimed that Spurs have made contact with Lukaku, as the North London club try to find a replacement for Harry Kane.

England international striker Kane joined Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

Juventus are also trying to sign Lukaku, but the Italian club are struggling to get a get done.

And now Tottenham have made “contact” regarding a potential deal, according to Pedulla.

Tottenham Hotspur should be wary of signing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku

In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur should not rush into signing Romelu Lukaku from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

While the 30-year-old is a very good striker, he has not been at his best for two years now and had injury problems last season.

Lukaku scored 10 goals and gave six assists in Serie A and scored three goals and gave one assist in the UEFA Champions League for Inter Milan during his loan spell last season.

In 2021-22, the striker scored eight goals in the Premier League and scored two goals in the UEFA Champions League for Chelsea.

Spurs would be taking a huge risk if they signed the former Manchester United striker on a permanent contract.

First of all, Chelsea would want a decent transfer fee for the striker.

Secondly, Lukaku is on a massive salary.

The Belgium international earns £325,000 per week (The London Evening Standard) at Chelsea.

We believe that Tottenham need to think very carefully before making a long-term commitment to Lukaku.
