Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson is happy with the squad he has…

PHIL PARKINSON still wants to add to his squad before the summer transfer window closes but the Reds’ boss is happy with what he’s got if no more new signings arrive at The STóK Cae Ras..

Having already recruited centre-back Will Boyle and wide-man James McClean, who both made their debuts in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against AFC Wimbledon at Plough Lane, Parkinson has now brought in goalkeeper Luke McNicholas from Sligo Rovers on a short-term contract until January.

Star striker Paul Mullin is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a punctured lung and four cracked ribs during the pre-season tour to America and the Reds’ boss has admitted he would like to add to his attacking options.

“We are looking,” said Parkinson.

“If something happens, great, it it doesn’t we will work with what we have got.

“I am happy to concentrate with the players we have got.

“We have got some good players and we have got more to come from a lot of the players.”

Mullin was last week given the all-clear to return from America and is due to see a specialist today to determine how long he will be out of action.

“Paul sees a specialist on Monday so we’ll have a clear picture by Monday evening hopefully,” added Parkinson.
