Valerien Ismail, former West Brom manager and current Watford manager, lashed out at the Baggies ownership during an interview with the Watford Observer, as reported by the Express and Star.
During his tenure at the club, Ismail stated there was a lack of contact between himself and Guochuan Lai, and it would often take months to hear back about any questions he had about the team or players, claiming he’d prefer to have an answer right away.
These remarks were made when addressing Watford’s ownership and their training ground-based office, claiming that it facilitates communication, which was not always the case during his time in the Midlands.
“I think it [the owner’s office at the training ground] is actually an advantage,” Ismail told the Watford Observer, as quoted by the Express and Star.
“We can also talk extremely readily. We don’t have to wait two, three, or even six months to meet. That chasm is far too wide. We can talk about training, transfers, the club in general, and whatever else we need to talk about at any moment.
“Yes, it was the opposite at West Brom, and I was furious.” That communication was difficult to have. If I have a question, I want to know the solution right soon.”
