SO SAD: Injury Specialist, ”Martin Kelly, a West Brom defender, will miss several weeks due to an acute injury.”

Dr. Rajpal Brar, a specialist in injuries, is a welcome addition to our exclusive writer lineup. He will offer his opinions on West Brom’s injury status every week.

Dr. Rajpal Brar claims that West Brom defender Martin Kelly has been sidelined for a number of weeks with what seems to be a severe knee injury.

The 33-year-old and the Baggies staff, in the opinion of the injury expert, were exceedingly systematic with their return to play.

The club’s director of medicine, Tony Strudwick, stated that they anticipated his comeback in August, but the Englishman was quite particular about how he wanted to do so.

Physical therapist and sports scientist Brar, who spoke exclusively to West Brom News regarding Kelly’s injury, said:

According to Tony Strudwick, “It sounds like the player was involved in that choice to be very systematic and conservative with his recovery timeframe.

It sounds like a serious knee injury, but it’s hard to judge how severe it is because of the chronology and the player’s uncertainty.

“He does seem to be weeks away from returning to the first team,”

At the moment, it seems unlikely that Kelly will sign a new contract when his current one at the Hawthorns expires at the end of the current campaign.

Since joining the club from Crystal Palace, where he was a first-team regular, he has hardly played for the senior team.

Even at Wigan, it appeared like he might see action, but an injury cut short his loan period.
