Northern Ireland goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has joined Danish Superliga side AGF Aarhus on a season-long loan from Burnley in search of first-team opportunities.
Peacock-Farrell was Aro Muric’s backup at Turf Moor last season.
Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has added to his goalkeeping staff since the club’s elevation to the Premier League.
James Trafford and Lawrence Vigouroux have joined Kompany.
As a result, the 26-year-old was anticipated to depart the Clarets this summer, and Peacock-Farrell has joined former Leeds manager Uwe Rosler at Aarhus.
He’ll have to compete for playing time with Aarhus’ regular goalkeeper Jesper Hansen in Denmark, but Rosler feels the transfer would benefit all sides.
“Bailey has a good character and a strong work mentality,” stated the ex-Manchester City attacker.
“And, with Jesper, we now have a strong and diverse goalkeeper group, where Bailey will learn a lot from Jesper while also strengthening our competitive situation.”
Peacock-Farrell, who has 39 Northern Ireland appearances, has failed to find a starting role in professional football after losing his place at Leeds to Kiko Casilla in early 2019.
He joined Burnley that summer but had only appeared in a handful of games until making 16 appearances last season.
His most consistent season came on loan at Sheffield Wednesday in 2021-22, when he made 47 appearances.
