Celtic are not looking to sign Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, it has been claimed.
The 26-year-old played 30 times in all competitions for City last season but, like many other Foxes players in 2022/23, he failed to make the impact he has done in previous campaigns.
Nevertheless, recent reports claimed the Scottish champions, now managed by former City boss Brendan Rodgers, could be ‘interested’ in the Nigerian international.
However, Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph has quashed talk of a potential move to Celtic Park this summer.
“I don’t believe Ndidi is a player Celtic are looking to sign in this window, certainly not one of the top targets or even middle-range targets at all,” Joseph told GIVEMESPORT.
“I’d be very surprised if Rodgers brings in anyone from Leicester, unless it’s someone perhaps from the younger teams or a player that’s shown potential in the younger age groups and breaking into the first team.”
Ndidi’s current deal at the King Power Stadium expires next summer and it is unclear whether he will stick around for a campaign in the Championship under new City boss Enzo Maresca in 2023/24. He has been with the club since signing from Genk in January 2017.
