Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall reveals advice from Leicester City’s new boss Enzo Maresca

The latest Leicester City news and views from LeicestershireLive as Kiernan Dewbury-Hall gives the Foxes their first win of pre-season

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall believes Leicester City have already come a long way in their short time they have been working under Enzo Maresca.

The midfielder, who scored the only goal of Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Northampton Town, has explained how Maresca has been giving him personal instructions whilst also trying to implement an entirely new playing style.

The Foxes kick-off their Championship campaign against Coventry City in three weeks’ time and Dewsbury-Hall thinks by then Maresca will have his team playing even better football.

Speaking to club TV, after heading home Timothy Castagne’s first half cross, the 24-year-old was fulsome in his praise of Maresca – and the advice he has already received from the former Man City assistant.
“We have been doing a lot of finishing in training,” Dewsbury-Hall said. “The gaffer has been telling me to get into the box, get on the crosses and it’s nice that one of them went in the back of then net.

“We’ve not even been working with him for two weeks and we feel like we have already learned so much, I think you will get to see he lives and breathes the game, his knowledge of football is very good and we are learning a completely different style to what a lot of us have been used to.

“It is going to take time but the more we work on it the better it will come and I think you will see in the coming weeks it can work very well. Last year it wasn’t good enough but we have got a chance this year to put it right and that’s the only focus we have got going into this season.

“The mentality has got to switch we have got to look at a winning mentality every week and I feel like the gaffer is going to come in and instil that.”

Leicester are next in action on Saturday when they face Tottenham Hotspur in Bangkok. They then face Liverpool in Singapore before getting the 2023/24 campaign under way against the Sky Blues on August 6.
