JUST IN: Guochuan Lai is criticized by former West Brom manager Tony Pulis for getting rid of real Albion people.

During his tenure at the club, Tony Pulis has criticized West Brom owner Guochuan Lai for firing what he calls “proper Albion people” and said that this made him have second thoughts.

David Kemp, Mark Jenkins, and Richard Garlick, with whom he had a solid working relationship, left the team, and their replacements lacked any familiarity with the team, according to Pulis.

Lai has come under fire as a result of the club’s recent financial difficulties, with supporters urging him to sell the organization because his lack of involvement is continuing to seriously affect The Hawthorns.

When discussing the owner during his tenure as The Hawthorns manager, Pulis said of Mr. Lai: “I met with Mr. Lai and I have to say he was brilliant; we went to Hong Kong and had a good chat about everything.

At the conclusion of that season, I signed a new contract, but David Kemp had left, along with Jeremy, Mark Jenkins, and Richard Garlick, and I had some second thoughts about what it would be like without them.

I had a lot of respect for John (Williams, the chairman), but there were newcomers with recruitment and other things, and the people I had depended on for their camaraderie and knowledge of Albion had departed away, and I had doubts in my mind.

The pre-season we went to China which is something I wouldn’t usually do.

Further worries keep emerging.

Right now, it seems like a new issue with Lai’s ownership pops up every week. The club’s financial status is worrying, and the chairman isn’t showing any signs of changing his position there, which keeps it in jeopardy.

The Price of Football podcast expressed alarm over a £2 million debt taken out that has already missed many due deadlines just one month prior, on August 18, warning that it might balloon to £10 million by March 2025.

Deeply concerning was used to characterize the situation, and it was said that the Baggies would have to sell players during the transfer window if they were to make significant squad improvements. However, there were no assurances that the proceeds from player sales would be used to fund these improvements.

In an earlier summer interview, managing director Mark Miles said that he shared their displeasure with the club. Lai is aware of the supporters’ ire directed at him, but there are no plans for additional investment.
