Joe Thuney is an American football guard who currently plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. Born on November 18, 1992, in Centerville, Ohio, Thuney grew up in a athletic family and was raised by his parents, Mike and Beth Thuney.¹
Thuney’s football career began at Archbishop Alter High School, where he was part of two state championship teams. He then played college football at North Carolina State University, where he was an All-American offensive guard and graduated cum laude in just three years.

The New England Patriots selected Thuney in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played for the Patriots from 2016 to 2020, winning two Super Bowl rings. In 2021, Thuney signed a five-year, $80 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, with whom he has won two more Super Bowl rings.
Thuney is a four-time Pro Bowl player and has been credited with providing a spark to the Chiefs’ offense. He is known for his versatility, having played both guard and tackle positions.²
