It may be another “mistake.” Sean Dyche could be poised to repeat a choatic transfers…

Overspending on players without a clear plan has limited their ability to battle the Premier League’s latest ten-point penalty imposed in November.

Then, last week, another alleged breach was reported.

If they sign anyone this window, it must be through cleverness and frugality, which explains their interest in Krasnodar forward Jhon Cordoba.

Kevin Thelwell and Sean Dyche may avoid repeating past mistakes, as one of the club’s major failures occurred in the same Russian division.

Who is Jhon Cordoba?

The 30-year-old Colombian marksman, who formerly played in Spain and Germany before relocating to Russia, has had a good few seasons despite the fact that his division is relatively weak in quality.

Despite his controversial tenure with FC Koln, his tally of 37 goals in 86 games is eclipsed by his 38 goals and 18 assists in 73 games for FC Krasnodar.

During his three years with Hertha, Michael Preetz, Hertha’s sporting director at the time, praised him, stating, “Jhon has already proven himself in the Bundesliga and, in addition to his goal threat, he brings the attributes we’re looking for in attack: powerful, dynamic, and assertive.”

Cordoba and Oumar Niasse share similarities in their interest in a £7 million forward payment, which can be deferred.

How did Oumar Niasse perform for Everton?

When he was tempted to Goodison Park in 2016, under Roberto Martinez’s guidance, fans were understandably delighted after seeing highlight videos of a skilled marksman with a strong eye for goal.

Prior to signing, he had already scored eight goals and seven assists in the Premier League and contributed seven goals in six Europa League games.

The attacker thrived for Lokomotiv Moscow and pledged to do so again at Everton for only £13.5 million.

However, it immediately became evident that he was not the player everyone assumed he was.

Clumsy and painfully unconventional, the 33-year-old rose to the status of cult hero due to his awful play style, which was profitable for a brief period of time.

In 42 games for the Toffees, he only scored nine goals, and he has since moved around the English football pyramid.

Ludicrous experiences with Morecambe FC, Burton Albion, and, more recently, Macclesfield Town reveal the level he has now settled at, and while Cordoba is unlikely to be as awful, Niasse advises anybody traveling directly from Russia to England to proceed with caution.
