The League Two club can be “very proud” of matching Manchester City’s record for the most league victories in 2023, according to Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson.
The Champions League and Premier League champions, City, and Wrexham, respectively, have each won 22 games so far this year.
Parkinson stated that his League Two team wanted to “achieve even more as their goal.
According to Parkinson, who spoke to BBC Sport Wales, “We’re very proud of that because we’re up against some very good teams across the football pyramid.
It is a tremendous accomplishment for everyone at the club to be mentioned alongside Man City.
It’s about what lies ahead, as Man City will assert when they learn that statistic and how well they’ve performed.
We are aware that our efforts have paid off because we are mentioned alongside those people and up there, but what lies ahead and how can we move forward to accomplish even more?
Wrexham’s 15-year hiatus from the Football League was ended when they won the National League title last season and set numerous records.
After dropping their home opener to MK Dons, Parkinson’s team is presently fourth in League Two, three points behind Gillingham. They have gone seven games without a loss.
Since the beginning of the season, we’ve put a lot of effort into examining the personnel, organizational, and structural aspects of the side.
I have so far enjoyed the division, the new year, and am really enthusiastic about what is ahead.
I believe our team is developing into a strong one, and there is healthy competition all over the field and on the field.
On Saturday, Wrexham will visit Stockport County to reacquaint themselves with the team that narrowly beat them to the National League title in 2022.
We enjoyed playing them in the National League, and it’s great to see them again in professional football, Parkinson continued.
We are aware of their goals, and they have made wise investments in establishing a top-notch football team similar to ours.
