“Carlos Corberan sends West Brom message on Twitter after Huddersfield loss”

Despite a late setback against Huddersfield, West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has urged his team to keep progressing in order to become the team they want to be.

Despite the disappointment of defeat, the Baggies manager took to his personal Twitter account to reassure fans that the squad will now face two weeks of work over the international break, with progress sought.

Corberan’s replies to fans have always been fair and transparent, and this is the latest example. His encouraging sentiments will undoubtedly be well greeted by Baggies fans.

Corberan made a statement on Twitter following the 2-1 loss to Huddersfield at The Hawthorns, writing: “Unfortunately, we didn’t get the result we wanted, but we keep going.” We have two weeks to work and improve to become the squad we want to be.”

The statement was a brief but direct approach to the fans, who were growing concerned following a setback in a game in which they were anticipated to win all three points.

Tempering expectations once more

Corberan’s latest move to reassure fans is another of several he has issued throughout the summer, as he attempts to temper the fans’ expectations around the club. At the beginning of the transfer window, he called for patience with the club, and this will be needed once again now.

The setback to Huddersfield was stunning, but it should not be cause for concern for Black Country supporters. These games take place throughout the course of a season. They were taken off guard by a late counter-attack, but this was a typical Neil Warnock team.

These things tend to balance each other out. West Brom will win a game they were not supposed to win later in the season. It’s the way football works, especially in the Championship, and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Corberan’s statement is encouraging. They will put in two weeks of hard work on the training field and return stronger after the international break as they aim to push their way into the playoffs.
