Sacovie White, a rookie receiver for the Georgia Bulldogs, was arrested over the weekend for reckless driving.
Athens Clarke County police reportedly pulled over White, a native of Cartersville, Georgia, who moved to Athens a few months ago, late Saturday night for driving the wrong way down a one-way street.White was freed on a $26 bail and there was supposedly no alcohol or drug use.
As of right now, no new information has been released, and the Georgia Bulldogs program has not yet made a remark on the matter.
The Bulldogs program has been criticism over the last eighteen months for its “culture issues” surrounding repeated driving violations. Several players have been arrested for a variety of driving-related offenses. And while White’s arrest does fit under this category, it is more likely the result of a young inhabitant becoming lost in a foreign city than it is of a cultural problem at its core.
