Early Life and Education

Dan Quinn was born on September 11, 1970, in Morristown, New Jersey. He grew up in a family of athletes and was introduced to football at a young age. Quinn attended Morristown High School, where he played football and lacrosse.

Playing Career

Quinn played college football at the University of Salisbury, where he was a defensive lineman. He graduated in 1993 with a degree in physical education.

 

Coaching Career

Quinn began his coaching career in 1994 as a graduate assistant at William & Mary. He then moved on to become the defensive line coach at Hofstra University.

 

*Professional Coaching Career*

Quinn’s professional coaching career began in 2001 as the defensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers. He then moved on to become the defensive line coach for the Miami Dolphins (2005-2006) and the New York Jets (2007-2008).

 

*Seattle Seahawks (2009-2014)*

In 2009, Quinn became the defensive line coach for the Seattle Seahawks. During his time with the Seahawks, the team won Super Bowl XLVIII and developed one of the top defenses in the NFL.
